This little tweak replaces the mouseover text on showthreads so that instead of saying "reload this thread" you get a more content relevent mouseover title.
thank you man
good work installed |
Thanks. Sometimes the best tweaks are some of the smallest tweaks.
This is still working with vb 4.0.4 PL1, just tested.

screenshot ?
haha nice mod.
well as he sayd . this is very important .. :D ! |
@ sonix, in the text file there is a page that has a live preview, check it out.
@ leo yes I think this could be an important factor since instead of "reload this page" which has nothing to do with the topic, it shows the topic title instead, helping a bit more. |
Thanks installed!
Glad you like it.
I did it, but I still don't know where the change was made, LOL.

The change is where you mouseover a thread title while viewing a thread.
Ok well it didn't do anything on my site. v4.1, I think cause I'm using vBSEO with RRs.
with the way your title is set, the link is removed, so it can't show.
Tested & working with vbulletin 4.1.1 still.
Thanks Installed
No problem, also, still working on vb 4.1.2. If they ever modify the code, I'll get it fixed asap. Enjoy the free seo boost!
Thanks. :) It still works as well.

thx alot
Great! Thanx!
no problem, please report any problems!
installed thank you !!
Excellent, piece of cake. Just curious, has anybody noticed any traffic improvement from this, even if very small?
I can tell you that it does help pickup traffic a bit. Especially when you consider that your adding more keyword density this way along with a relevant title tag.
that hurts, does not apply to 4.1.7
thanks anyway |
It does work for vbulletin 4.1.7, just finished testing. Your problem lies within vbseo stripping the link away from the title on the showthread page. No link available means the title tag cannot be applied.
thanks nice :)
It does work for vbulletin 4.1.9.
Thank's :) |
works well in 4.1.11 :)
I must be blind because I don't see the "Reload this thread" reference anywhere in my threads.

Strange. I still don't see "reload this thread" anywhere.
Above first post -> mouse over thread title -> bingo
It's in the title attribute. I don't understand the purpose of this mod, title attribute have little to no bearing in overall SEO performance. |
Well what it does is add a relevant title attribute and add's a little more keyword density. I'm pretty sure that you don't want to be ranked for the keyword "reload this page", which adds no real value to the thread content.

Well, I don't see the "reload this page" reference anywhere in a thread. I wonder if it's due to the fact I have vBSEO installed?
Yep, just have a look at the 2nd post on this page.
Installed on vB 4.2.3 and works like a charm! Solid :D
i do not think this mod does anything positive any more in terms of seo, Having your title repeated is not a good thing. From a user perspective I could see it having some benefit though.
Sorry about the late post but it helps increase the keyword density a little bit, especially on threads with 15+ replies and a few users decide to make essays out of their posts lol.
i also have install on my forum
good work |
Worked for me. Running vB 4.2.5.
Thanks |
