Ok so i was guessing that i should update from 4.3.9 to 4.4, but now that i did my whole forum is all screwed up.!?

I've been using this mod forever.. what was in 4.4 that would possible do that.?

I use the ladders for FIFA games mainly. Members can play each other say 3/4 times on the bounce. This means that they have to say put one challenge through then let the other member accept then submit result. They have to repeat this 4/5 times.

Is it possible to have it so more than one challenge can be sent at a time? so this process is made quicker?

Also as regards the leagues. is it also possible to link results to a ladder. So say if a member wins a league game it is also added to his/her ladder ranking?

I upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.1.3 & that fixed it, but no there was no error msg's.

The site just had no structure, hardly any images, etc.. just links, like forum titles, navbar links, footer links, etc. everything all lined up to the left. (see image)

I really dont see how the mod could have caused it, but its all i did was upgrade. lol

Im thinking of using joomla as the cms and Vb as forum..

Now i want to know if its possible to pull info from VB to joomla to show ranking, latest ladders, hall of fame and other stuff?

I think you might be running files from v4.4.0 and product file from v4.3.9. It'll be best you upgrade.

The options should be right at the bottom, below 'Ladder Columns'.

I've not used Joomla, but if you can create php or mysql modules then you'll be to fetch them.

Upgrade to v4.4.1. There should be anything affecting the rest of your site in any of the versions.

I have installed this system but on the main page of the tournament and ladder listing things don't seem to be working right.

If I create a Tournament and put it under a Category for example "Xbox" then when you view the main home page it reads that there are still "0" tournaments under that category.

However ... if I give that category a sub-category - then the number will change to "1".

Finally - if I click on the new sub-category that I now placed my tournament in - the sub-category landing page will read "0" tournaments available. If you click the "0" link it will go to the page and show the tournament available.

Not sure if this has been discussed but is there a way to fix this?

Nope. Although users could manually add their ladder player image into their profile or signature.

each time i create a double elimination tournament and assign 8 teams, then i restart the tournament so i can edit the teams (due to the feature added per my request) i get a error
"The page isn't redirecting properly" and the page will not load. also i close the the browser out and go back to my tournaments bracket and click on the the double elimination tournament i create and can't get back into it. which also mean i can't even delete the tournament cause it will give me the same error. also upon restart of the double elimination tournament i also noticed it ups the tournament slots from the max 8 to 16 when the restart feature is used.

Hey, thanks for making this mod, it is superb and I am in love with it. I have started using it to run tournaments for PC games. One problem I have encountered is that players need to be able to find their opponents on Steam. We have already integrated Steam information into each user profile with the IM Steam mod, and the result is that the postbit now displays a small Steam icon (https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/external/2011/05/12.gif), and clicking on that icon gives various options for contacting the user over Steam. What I would like to do is add that icon-link immediately following each player's name in the bracket after a tournament has started, essentially just like the avatar icon but at the end of the name instead of the beginning. The idea would be that the players would be able look at the bracket and simply click on the steam icon next to their opponent's name to find them on Steam.

I will find the proper code for adding the steam icon-link myself, but I'm not sure where I should be adding that code into the tournaments.php file to make it display the way I want it to. I would be grateful if you could show me where exactly I need to insert this to achieve that kind of result.

ty bananalive that fixed the page error i was getting. however i still can't remove a team or teams from the double elimination bracket. there isn't a option for it. the restart feature works just can't remove a team from the bracket. is it possible to have more powers in regards to this. like a admin or forum mod being able to assign anyones team to a tourney bracket? just in case i have 2 double elmination tourney's going on at the same time. then i can move the teams around and put them in the tourney i want to prevent stacking in the tourney.

When I do this, I get this error.

ooh, one thing, I am in a ladder match, and only option is to Submit Score... it's me and other player, still not sure where scores come from. Scores are 0-0 so who's got the next move and where do the points come from and how do you score. THANKS!

There should be a button to 'Reorganise Brackets' so you can change which slots each team is in.

Hack for removing a team... v4.4.3+ you can use url:

Change 57 to tournament id
Change 5 to userid or teamid

Your server will need GD installed on it.
You play the game elsewhere and then report the result into this modification.

So you could play FIFA against your friend and keep track of your scores using this modification on your forum.

Many thanks, but I have upgraded and added that exact text to the new field and nothing has changed. To test, I even generated a new bracket and nothing other than the normal avatar and username is being displayed. I also double-checked the upgrade by doing it a second time, with no changes. In addition, I tested the function by substituting {field} for {steamid}, as per the admincp option example, but nothing happened with that either. Finally, I tried removing all text from that field (including {usertext}), but again nothing changed. This is an ongoing tournament bracket where you can see the 4.4.3 version number at the bottom, but no steam information is being displayed.

#2 & #3 are fixed. :)

Is it another mod that wont allow an image to show up OR is there a way to turn it off/disable it, so it doesn't show anything there.?
The info it shows in the "Player Image" is hardly worth it anyway. I mean it is mostly just a recap of other stuff already listed. So this is just a luxury that isn't worth having if it wont show easily. :)

That's a link to the image, so that it can be placed elsewhere, e.g. in someone's signature.

The image shouldn't be displaying on the ladders page.

That worked perfectly, thanks! I very much like this feature, as it makes matching up opponents very easy on the bracket, plus the size of the icon works well within the existing bracket fields. You can see how nice it looks on the existing tournament. I know a lot of my users will be very happy to have this feature.

Without going through all the posts can someone explain to me in the league section how would you go about adding the players/teams to a division

At the moment it just mixes the players/teams up and places them in at random

I want to be able to put players/teams in to what division i want
Also the ability to swap players/teams mid season and for the new team to keep the same points

Remove players/teams and the results from those games automatically removed

Ran into an issue i cannot figure out.....
My admin group and groups i gave permission have lost access to any of the competition options
as far as new groups/competitions/ ect.... nothing new can be posted right now....

can you point me in the right direction on possible ways to fix this?

I am now looking into the possibility of hosting a ladder on my site, and the {steamicon} addition would be just as useful to my members on the ladder/league rankings table. I think the icon would fit well right after the player's name on the enlarged info screen that appears on mouseover.

My current worshiping of your greatness will become full-blown deification if this option can be added. Thanks again for the superb mod.

[edit]One more thing, in the ladders and leagues, there's a way to display Recent Matches, but is there a way to show all matches played by each player? If so, how? If not, it would be nice if on each person's stat page there was a link that showed all their scores from that particular ladder or season.

I've got a question about the Ladder system: How does the re-match timer work? I've set mine to 168 hours (1 week), but nothing seems to be stopping my test accounts from re-challenging each other immediately. I've tried creating the new challenges both with the admin function Insert Challenge and with the Match Finder, and both happily accept the new match even though one was just played. Either this feature isn't working, or I do not understand what it does. I'd be grateful for some guidance.

Just tested it, works for me.

It prevents same player challenging each other again within the time limit, after they both submit the scores.

Limit number of active challenges (ones where score hasn't been submitted) is set by 'Max Ladder Challenges' (in vBulletin Options, default 1).

It does not affect 'Admin Insert Challenge'.

Hmmm... definitely not working for me. I've tried it with test player accounts, and repeat challenges go through without anything blocking them using Match Finder.

Could this be related to another issue I'm having? If I turn on the Join User Tables to User Profile Tables option, I get the following error when looking at a tournament:

That option isn't very important to me so I haven't put much effort into trying to troubleshoot it, but perhaps it's indicative of a problem that is also impacting the re-challenge time limit.

Also, in case you missed it, I would love to have that {steamid} addition for the Ladders/Leagues displays as well. My members think it is great and it would get used for ladder play.

Installed the new update today.

I see you made changes to the tournament layout. From a personal point of view I didn't like it as it brought into play scrolling bars on the larger brackets. Is there a way to remove them and go back to the 4.4.4 look? had a play with the settings and couldnt really figure it out.

A feature request, would it be possible to add the ability for users to submit scores without necessarily setting up challenges beforehand? Or, alternatively, allow the optional setting of to set the final score at the same time a challenge is created. Essentially if two players just want to play a random game at any time, it'd be less clicks for them to do so.

Additionally, I saw your video for customizable fields in ladder challenges, however I don't find where to create those customizable fields.

Couple of questions/suggestions/feature requests.

I really need/could do with a way of changing permissions on a whole season, or possibly just a league. I'm running a set of leagues with 2 seasons a year, so i've grouped all the leagues into a season and would like to be able to restrict access to this season to only paid members.

Which brings me into point 2, Pay to play. My current solution is to use vBulletin's built in payment system to change people into a specific user group. The problem then would be regulating access to the leagues based on a user group. Any suggestions or assistance on this one?

Last one is simply that with tournaments you can have people signing up before the start of the tournament, but with leagues this isnt allowed, and people only seem to be able to sign up once the league has started. Again if we're advertising a league in advance of its start (Because it's a paid entry/prize fund league) then we'd like people to be able to sign up before the start date.

Any suggestions or assistance on these points?
