No problem at all. But I'll be careful next time. We were just 3 people here posting ideas and reports, so I thought that I can be a bit more open-heart. That's was the problem in my life. Never been that "serious looking and acting" person.

I'll check it. Most probably is a typo in the code as I added the code with phpMyAdmin and works fine.

As I wrote before it was a typo. Attached is the fixed file to upload. Please note that in preview does not appears ok (is half height). This is because there is no height value in the code. But after submission the video appears fine.

Christos, what i am missing here:

* I inserted the video, i see it, i select the category and when press save it, error comes up.
"You don't have permission to access /video_usercp.php on this server."

I checked the fullpath, it is ok. I Chmod to 777 all files-folders, usergroup permissions ok.. Anything else?

vb4.2.0 pl4 HTTPS

Thanks, nice mod anyway.

Hi Strati,

Please give a try by importing this xml file. Maybe is a security warning message? The code for security token is there but sometimes it messes with the use of show/hide block.

Let me know after check.

Thank you for your supporting words

@lillylissy

If you're in good mood and because I understood that you know more than me about design, I'll appreciate if you modify css file as you want (keeping vB standards) and then I'll include your file in the distribution package giving the design credits to you :)

Thank you
Christos

Thanks however these really small style-adjustments are no hard work and take only few minutes.
The important is the addon and functionality. And this is excellent!:)

Can you give me the link? Are you sure that the video is not private? There are also some other, non private videos, but with restriction to work only within YouTUBE website (or any other provider site).

Are you in SSL? If that site works only in non SSL then you'll not be able to see it.

I tried the link in both vB4 and vB3 versions and works:

vb4: http://www.cmsbulletin.com/demo/vb42...iewvideo&id=37

vb3: http://www.cmsbulletin.com/demo/vb38...viewvideo&id=2

but if you try the same links with SSL will not work: https://www.cmsbulletin.com/demo/vb3...viewvideo&id=2

PS: This issue is not a code's issue. The browser halts the appearance. If the site (eg YouTUBE) works in both https and http should appears. If it works only in http then there is no way to show it.

Edited: Sorry but http://www.cbc.ca/ works only in http://

Is it so ugly that small copyright notice? :(

lillylissy 13 Apr 2017 13:08

What do you mean please?

lillylissy 13 Apr 2017 13:27

Do you mean your addon copyright notice? I gladly make a PayPal payment. If you speak of it?

lillylissy 13 Apr 2017 13:34

Now however I have another problem since the last update.
The nivo-slider on my page does not run here -> https://baeckerei-lieb.de/video_usercp.php?do=myvideos any longer. That works beforehand without problem. Somewhat one modified?

Edit: Command back. I found the error.

Yes I mean this, but there is no need of any payment. Finally, even by mistake, I show it as free feature.

Nivo slider, if I understood well, works now. Right? Still searching for a good slider, even commercial, to add in my mod.

Could you please try the attached version? I've used another slider and I want to know if this new works or not.

Is better to upload all files and then import product-videoclub.xml Please note that I haven't configured yet the slider (eg hidding navigation etc). Just want to know if it works (you must have active the setting "Show Similar Videos".

PS: For all other users. Please wait the official release later today.

Are you using the full Nivo slider or a modified version that I seen as addon here?

Second and further pages: https://baeckerei-lieb.de/erotic.php...=2&pp=1&page=2

Maybe you need to clear browser's cache? I tried searching in your site, and even if I don't understand Deutch at least the pagination wokrs fine. I mean pointing to the correct file/page.

The blue/grey text is still an issue for us, spilling over (bleeding into) some standard vBulletin modules such as profile.

While looking at it, can you fix the HTML code shown under the username, having it reflect what the color is for our individual member usernames? Thanks again .. :)

The setting option that I added to show or not similar videos does not works??

As you maybe read above I'm working to a new set of templates to be 100% compatible with vB styles. But for those who want the current style I'll keep it and I'll add a setting (switcher) for using the template set that they want.

Finally, when finishing all these, I'll try to install in my site Nivo slider to see if this causes the conflists.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter

It works. But the image size is too large.
And at videoclub-home (video.php), the slider pictures are displayed at the top.
Likewise oversized.
That was however already with the Test-1.2.2 like that.

Happy Easter

lillylissy 15 Apr 2017 17:51

Setting Option? Just a moment.

lillylissy 15 Apr 2017 17:59

You are right. The adjustment functions.

lillylissy 16 Apr 2017 07:27

It seems, as SEO URL would not work. Or did I forget something?
And the setting option that you added Christos, to show or not similar videos is a good thing.
I would implement the same setting-option also with the slider at the top.
Sometimes fewer is more (an old german proverb :p).
And a cms-widget with "latest, most view" or whatever videos would be great. :)

Please add your paypal-data here on the add-on page (about the developer).

Guten Tag!
To say the true haven't tested yet SEO links but I used the same code in other mods and they're working. Have you added seo rules from htaccess.txt file to your .htaccess file?

Also note, that if you change any SEO words in general options (videoclub) you must change the same in htaccess file.

lillylissy 16 Apr 2017 08:40

Yes, I added the rules in my .htaccsess.
The seo-url displays also correct. But there is no forwarding to the appropriate video.
And I see a double-slash // in the url.

paradoxG(r)eek 16 Apr 2017 08:57

I'll check it now. Just finished the new style (vB format);
http://www.cmsbulletin.com/demo/vb42/video.php

Then I'll try to test what's wrong in your site by adding the same js files. I'm very stuborn and I want to find the bug. Most probably is the Nivo slider. In this case I suggest you to use bxslider that I'm using in videoclub instead. Is very flexible. Nivo slider supports only one photo per slide and this is a big disadvantage.

This bug needs manual fix. You must go to Videoclub-> General options and change SEO settings by removing the end slash. eg:

videos/album/ ......to...... videos/album
videos/author/ ......to...... videos/author
videos/tag/ ......to...... videos/tag
video/ ......to...... video

ver. 1.3.0 released
by paradoxG(r)eek
16 Apr 2017 10:19

ver. 1.3.0 is available for download. It has everything that you asked for, and also fixes all reported bugs.
  1. Improvements:
    1. Almost all templates have been modified to use the default vBulletin style. I thought that a different style should be better, but seems that I was mistaken. In person I don't like all pages in my site to appear as forums.
    2. Even the user title has been updated to use open/close html tags.
  2. Bug fix: There is a double typo bug in seo urls:
    1. htaccess file has wrong filenames. You must replace all (4) media.php with video.php or use the updated htaccess.txt file
    2. In Video Club-> General Options you must change all (4) SEO settings by removing the end slash. eg videos/author/ must be videos/author etc.
How to Upgrade
  1. Download ver. 1.3.0
  2. Upload ALL files in your server, overwritting the old ones.
  3. Import product-videoclub.xml and don't forget to check "Overwrite".

After all, I believe that ver. 1.3.0 is a stable version, that's why I've activated "Support Developer" for those who want to donate something. In exchange, they will get the legal right to turn off "Show Copyright" in General Options (last option).

Thank you for using Video Club
Christos

Testing feedback on v1.3.0 ...

Terrific work in cleaning up a lot of the cosmetic issues, but we still have a couple of places where the blue/grey text color is either challenging to read on our style, or it's bleeding over into regular text on standard vBulletin templates.

Foe example, check the two attached pics of a member's Profile Page. One is with Video Club enabled and you can see how what is normally black text, turns blue/grey with Video Club is enabled. If I go into AdminCP and DISABLE Video Club, you can see that a pic of the same profile has correct black text.

Also, check the pic showing the Video Club screen when viewing the main home screen. I've highlighted text that continues to appear in the blue/grey color and as you can see, it's challenging to read. Can we get this in black text?

Finally, on behalf of all our members (retired veterans), we've sent you a donation of $75 U.S. for all you hard work. It's much appreciated and what you're now providing with Video Club for free download is excellent value. :)

We compared it against another video addon product (PRO version) offering advertised here and your function and features far exceed what it offers, plus they're asking for $179 U.S. for a license to be able to receive upgrades for the life of using their product.

In our opinion, your free offering (with any donation) is a better value.. thanks again..

Regards,
Doug

Hello Doug,

First of all, thank you for your donation. Really appreciated.

As for the design issues. Let's start from usecp. Please import the attached xml file. I've removed and additional css and js there other than font-awesome (actually this was missing). Give a try and let me know. If it fixes the mess, I'll continue to the rest issues.

You're welcome Chris...

With that new XML, yes .. the standard member's profile page is correct now.. :)

Blue/grey text still appears on main Video Club Home Page...

Couple of thoughts for future design features...

If a user could later EDIT the article information and perhaps edit and change the thumbnail pic, like they can when first adding the video to the club, that would be an excellent function ..

Doug

Chris..

Not sure what this is, but on the main home page, I notice that the small icons don't appear as icons the first time you view the home page, but rather as small boxes. (see pic)

If you click on any video to go to it, they appear fine, then if you return to the main home page, the small icons are there now... not sure what that means, but I thought I'd mention it ..

Also, the icons are very small and very neutral in color. Is there some way of using "tool tips" so a small pop-up occurs to say what they mean, plus perhaps have a color that standads out better?

Just some thoughts..

Regards,
Doug

Well, I was able to fix the conflist. It caused by the load of:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

But let's start with a simple notice. At headinclude you're loading 3 times the same jquery file. That's not correct. So, find in headinclude template:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

and replace it with:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

I also have some doubts if you really need the slider.pack but for the moment let it there. In my text I didn't loaded it and the slider was working fine.

Please let me know.

Yes, I've replaced it with font-awesome icons. Much better than normal icons as they're getting their color from the active font color.

If you're sure that you've upload the folder fonts inside videoclub folder, then just clear your browser's cache and they'll appear.

I think I load it in header, not in headinclude. Only css load in headinclude.

Normally js files must load in footer, unless if there is a notice to load them in < head > section. But header.tpl is just for html code within < body > section. JS files must load in headinclude. Not that you can't include anywhere, but the normal (after footer section) is headinclude.

What I have to do? Or would you like admin-access to make an overview for you?

Please upload the attached xml and check:
  1. If the provider list on sidebar appears ok (font color).
  2. I've changed the icons by removing opacity which causes that difficult to see issue.

See attached...

1. Still don't see anything except square boxes anytime home screen for Video Club starts up... they do appear after screen refresh (which is awkward) and after someone goes away and come back to the home screen. (see attached)

2. Provider list now appears in black and looks fine. Note: Blue/Grey test still appears under Top Videos listing. (see pic)

3. is framing around slider pics supposed to be white?

4. Pop up tool tips for views/likes/comments are fantastic !!!!! :)

Looking better at each iteration ..

Doug

Unzip the attached file and upload jquery.bxslider.css to videoclub/css/
Let me know if it works.

That's why I said to clear browser's cache. Seems that something kept there. Also PM access details to your site with permissions to access video pages.

This does not seems to be from my style but from your original style. Maybe your style does not supports sidebar? The colors that you're seeing there are the colors of the Default vb Style.

Give me the link to your video pages. Strange that it does not works. I set transparent as slider color which means that normally it must shows the page's default background color.

Unless if you didn't clear browser's cache. Try to clean browser cache after any new design change.

I cleared FireFox browser cache and that fixed the white border issue using your new jquery.bxslider.css file (see attached) Looks great now!!!

The square box issue for comments/help/likes still appears on first start of Video Club home page, regaless of cache clearing or not.

I have no place in my vBulletin style where text is this blue/grey subdued color, so I'm not sure where it's coming from, but it's the same color you fixed in profile screen (you fixed that) when Video Club text was overflowing into it.

Chris..

Refreshing the page (or refreshing the browser, or clearing cache) doesn't cause the proper icons to appear on the main home page. One has to EXIT the home page into viewing a video, then come back to get them to appear...

Doug with screenshots I can't debug anything. Screenshots are fine to understand where the problem is but not to fix it. I need to visit your page and investigate what styles are loading and what not.

....Also....... A check that you must always do with any design issue of any mod. To switch to Default (vb) style and check if the issue exists or not. eg if the icons appear with the default style then it's a problem of your style and not of my code.

I suggest you (I'm doing it very often) to have different styles installed in your site but available only to Admin. This way you can check anything with another (for example) dark style.

Chris.. I found the problem...

My tab bar access to video.php was referring to HTTP and not an HTTPS link..

It's now working fine and square boxes now show proper icons for whatever reason..

Sorry about that .. my bad .. :erm:

Doug

That's why I asked you access. Even if I have no idea what this message means, but something prevents font icons to load. The message is:
Quote:

Access to Font at 'https://www.xxxxx.com/videoclub/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff?v=4.0.3' from origin 'http://www.xxxxx.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://www.xxxxx.com' is therefore not allowed access.
The only that I can see is a refference to http and https. Is you site running on SSL?

Thanks.. again.. my apologies... a typo adding the link to my 4.1 tab manager... :o

Now, if there was some answer to the blue/grey text appearing under top videos in column to the right, I'd probably start populating Video Club with a LOT of videos and go live next week...

Thanks again for an excellent product .. and support..

Doug
