I would really like to see a matchfinder as it would make ladder work much better..

Problem is that good player dont get any matches as most is to chiken to accept. Matchfinder would take care of this as people cant see who posted the match.

I would pay for something like this for vb. I own mw2tournaments.com and I would like to use the scripts that I run on sorrynoobs.com to run this tourney site. VB and its cms is so much better and it's just this tourney mod that is holding me back from doing so. Double elimination is the main thing, this needs to be updated to allow for more players. All other features that are in the cup addon would be leet as well.
I think you should consider doing something of this nature, as you would be the only one to complete such thing. I think that there may be others who are willing to pay for it.

Uhm, might be a dumb question, but HOW in the HECK do you advance players into the next bracket when a tournament has officially begun?

Agreed 100% a match finder would be the bees knees and make this the most used mod on vbull!!!!

Nice Addon! But how can I delete players when the tournament is startet?

I am trying to install this on another server and it keeps forcing the navbar buttons to the Right side of the fourms got any ideas how I can get the Tabs back on the left side of the navbar

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to advance someone in the tournament. I hover over there name and nothing happens, other than there avatar picture gets a bit larger. Other than that everything seems to be running just fine.

real quick when i create category for ladders and for tournaments...when i go to click the drop down box to select what category when creating a new tournament nothing shows up....this happen to anyone else??

this mod is looking better and better since the last time i remember looking at it. i see that there's been talks of things to expect in the next version, but is there a full list somewhere with all the things planned?

seems like this has a lot of potential but a few key things still seem to be missing...are there any plans for the following to be added?:

1. detailed match reports, including maps played, result screenshots, match comments, for example something like this: http://roladder.net/index.php?sub=la...l&game_id=3850
2. more detailed team profiles/statistics including complete match history (click on a team profile in the link i sent for examples)
3. full match records database
4. rung ladders
5. ability to run individual ladders each using a different for of ranking

Maybe for a future update to the ladders you could allow for a ladder to be closed so that new teams cannot join, but the teams already in the ladder can still play. Would be helpful for leagues and playoffs.

Im willing to pay 50$ or even more if a matchfinder where done... I even think i could provide the code used for other scripts.

I had a guy in a tournament randomly enter people in a tourny just so that it was full and could start. These people did not want in the tourny which now causes me to restart the whole thing. Is there a way to turn this off so that random users cant add other random users??

I just tried to install the latest version on 4.10 pl2 but the mod installation never completes....it just sits there saying Installing Mod....Please wait :(

Is matchfinder for singles comming ?

If matchfinder is done my biggest problem is players is not showing up....


Here is a solution for that problem:

It would be nice with a check-in feature so players have to check-in same day and latest 1/2 hour(or whatever time you choose) before tournament start. And brackets will be made when that time frame is reached.

EX.

Basically players a, b, c, and d register for a tourment and are added to the player pool. For this tournament that starts at 3PM you're required to check in from 2pm-3pm the day of the tournament in order to participate. For this instance, only players a and c check-in for the tournament. Therefore when you create the brackets it only adds players a and c, even though b and d registered. This cuts down on the number of people who register for the tournament and then don't show up, causing a lot of first round byes and problems with the bracket layout, and people looking for players that are not there :-(

I am aware of the problem of non-showers for tournaments and ladder matches. I'm still not sure what the solution is, but check-in feature is interesting.

How do i change the words, Best of, and map when i create a challenge? cause it dosnt make sense when it comes to soccer :-)

Guys, is there a way to create a tournament to coincide with a sports event and have users pick winners of the brackets for points. Kind of like a March Madness bracket?

1. You can only link result of tournament to ladder. Users cannot currently report their own results for tournaments, only tournament moderators can.

2. I've adjusted permissions so that only tournament moderators can add players to tournaments. Uploaded attached tournaments.php to forum directory (allow overwrite).

3. Tournament moderators progress users onto next round using the arrows. See attached screenshot

I have some questions and requests :) I would be glad to donate for your work!

- It is possible to create tournaments, where the first stage is a based group? Then for example the first 2 of each group pass to the final bracket.

- Also for the tournaments, it is possible to give some seeds? For example there are 16 teams signed up and now I would like to choose who are the best teams, then the rest of the teams will get random positions (in brackets or groups)

- A hook system inside the tournaments system would be very useful! I have made some changes, and now I have to revert many things. Also I could help you to develop the product in any case.

I have added:

- Maximum time for accepting a challenge and for submitting results. Email notifications near the deadlines. The main idea is to keep the ladder players playing. Penalties.
- Widget for Recent matches and upcoming matches.

Question:
-How could I add the tournaments matches to a recent matches widget? Is there any lan to implement a tournaments matches table in the database?

Love this mod mate, cheers. I have a couple of questions.

On the match finder where you input your details is it possible to create an extra field (or 3 even) where people can fill in text? Our ladder matches are based on a choice of 3 themes offered by the challenger so been able to wite this in the match finder details would be great.

Secondly is it possible to have a postbit stat showing a persons current ranking on the ladder?

Also is there a way im missing that when a challenge on the ladder has been set it can auto post this up in the forum as well ???

I deleted a tournament but it still shows in the hall of fame the scores from that tourney. ie the player who won still shows the win and all the players have +1 in tourney's entered. How would i go about deleting those entries, which tables would i need to edit to remove those?

Any help would be appreciated.

Also it is not possible to edit the tournement comments it saves the original comment, not the edited version, i think i have all the correct permissions.

EDIT: im actually trying to edit someone elses comment, i am admin/owner of the forum, altho i cant even edit my own comments.

The HOF is based of number of wins, according to the user table. Columns tmnt_wins, tmnt_joins

The comment issue is to do with the WYSIWYG editor, but will be fixed in v4.2.7+

I'm liking the new top navigation and rules tab. However, I can't seem to figure out how to edit the Rules tab with the top navigation enabled. Is it possible or do I have to enable the sidebar for now to edit it?

Also, will we be able to edit the rules for each ladder or tournament to fit that event? or Does this show up the same for all events?

If you look at the main navbar at the top, Rules is second from the left. Once you click that, you can click 'Edit'.

I have a little problem with the error message when double elimination is created with more of 8 players.

The error is in tournaments.php, is this:

How do i remove elo rating from the ladder?

i made a tournament and people have started playing but the rank shows that everybody is placed as no. 1?

And cant make any comments?

I must of forgot to install something because mine doesn't look like that.

Hi bananalive, mi forum setting times are GMT +1, when i create or edit a tournament i have a problem with the hour, mark one more hour, i have to edit tmnt_new and tmns_edit templates or is there any way to configure the mod?

Other features i would like to see:

It would be nice if it would be possible to protect tournaments and ladder with a password, so we could open up the the system so users could make there own tournaments and password protect them so only admins and them self can acces.

a password to Change the setup of the tournament and a password to enter. The pass to enter would also do good with other purposes.

Group play or league would be awesome :-)

Comment permissions are a separate usergroup permission: "Can Comment on Tournaments".

It's now much simpler, just using the formula:

Rating Change = K-factor * ( Result – Expected Result )

Result being substitute by 1 for win, 0.5 for draw or 0 for loss.
