I was having an issue with the pop up as well and fixed it to my liking. I thought I'd share for those having the same problem :)

Here's what I changed:

Go to adminCP>style manager> and find the "eggav_bit" template
Replace contents with:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

Now everything displays in the first container with a simple separation on the cleaning section.
Hope this helps, and I hope you don't mind me posting this hambil.
My community loves this modification :)

Generic avatars are not displayed, everything else looks just fine!?

Thanks once more for great hack

zombietom 11 Apr 2009 19:05

does this work with 3.7 ?
thanks and it looks very cool

zombietom 11 Apr 2009 20:17

works good on 3.7 --just need to set up the credits thing...
thanks and i clicked installed

UncoderMom 12 Apr 2009 13:38

Thank you Hambil!

Nadeemjp 13 Apr 2009 12:08

i have checked the option to display the stats in "whats going on" to yes, but it is not showing. could anyone explain why?

cory_booth 13 Apr 2009 13:13

Updated to 2.3.3 and I see the following errors on animated gifs:

1. If the filename has a space (I believe this is the problem)...

identify: unable to open image `images/avatars/Animated': No such file or directory. identify: unable to open image `SC/36_7_7.gif': No such file or directory. identify: missing an image filename `SC/36_7_7.gif'.

2. It seems the layers function is either not supported by my ImageMagick version or something is off...

Currently I disable the (is_ani) section of class_eggavatar_image.php but if it is enabled...

convert: unrecognized option `-layers'.

Endurer 13 Apr 2009 15:45

Thanks for this cool mod.

hambil 14 Apr 2009 03:27

Updated to fix a permissions problem, and added a vbAdvanced module.

What version of ImageMagick are you using, and thanks for the tip of spaces in filenames, I'll look into that.

nascartr 14 Apr 2009 04:50

Thanks for the homepage block! Glad to be able to remove that huge thing from the 'Whats Going On' box yet still have basic stats.

Sunka 14 Apr 2009 05:08

Thanks Hambil for new update...
My vBAdvanced portal page is huge even without this add on...so, is it possible to change something in new version of stats in 'Whats Going On' box on Forum home page?
I will be happy if you have time and will to make that we users have option in ACP to choose how many members will be in Most Egged (now is 10, I would like top 5), same for Most Thrown, and for icons/images in Most Popular Eggs to chose how many and small/normal size of image, or just name of image (without picture)

aztecboi2003 14 Apr 2009 05:17

Sorry I didn't read the directions before I posted.

kayskid 14 Apr 2009 06:19

Just wondering if anybody knows why all avatars that are NOT egged are not showing up when I enable this mod?

zombietom 14 Apr 2009 13:40

zombietom 14 Apr 2009 14:41

I get a Invalid File Specified when trying to add the eggblock ..do i need to select overwrite?

hambil 14 Apr 2009 15:01

eggblock.xml is installed via the vBadvanced upload/download module system, not vBulletin's product/plugin system.

zombietom 14 Apr 2009 15:19

I get this "You already have a file called vba_eggavatar.php in your modules folder" ...should i overwrite?

Other users are having issues with cleaning them too, I try and it gives me the same thing it gives them. BUT if I throw something fresh at them and then throw a towel the avatar gets cleaned. weird.

Also I noticed if you throw an egg and then quick reply you cant throw another egg until you refresh the page.

I am running vb 3.8 and installed the latest version of Egg and am having the exact issues posted above.

I am admin and I cannot clean avatars, members who have permission cannot clean their avatars. When I go to clean mine, the popup is empty. When I go to clean a member's avatar it tells me the avatar is already clean.

Is there a fix that I missed for this?

hambil 20 Apr 2009 19:05

I will look into the cleaning problem and get a fix out as soon as I finish a paid project I am working on. Hopefully very soon.

Saviour 21 Apr 2009 13:11

Hambil...

Now that most of us have this working...

You may want to start working on the coding of this mod and clean it up a little...since it doesn't meet W3C's XHTML compliancy.

I know, I know...why if it works? Right?

Well...most of us like to keep our site's clean...and having bad code doesn't help when it comes to SEO.

Just a thought...

hambil 21 Apr 2009 14:57

Your are talking about the popup box and the WOL, I assume, since XHTML only deals with HTML/XML and those are the only parts of the mod that display that kind out output?

Saviour 21 Apr 2009 15:53

Well...the issue was happening in the postbit...so, I had to go into the Plugin Manager and edit the postbit plugin where you were referring to the users and etc., with code such as the following: &u=

XHTML doesn't like this...so wherever you were calling on these...I just substituted the above with: &u=

All is good now...and everything still seems to be working.

Just a 'heads up'...

Saviour 21 Apr 2009 15:55

Now...if only I can find and correct the 5 errors on my arcade page...I'll be good to go...LOL!

Saviour 21 Apr 2009 16:41

Oh...and my whoeggedme.php isn't validating, either...but I think that's because the blog cp navigation link is outside the <table body>tag. Can't figure out how to fix it...but that's a horse of a different color...LOL

Lynne 21 Apr 2009 16:47

I'm having fun with this on my test site and think I'll install it for some fun day/week on my live site. It would be cute to have items/eggs/whatevers that are holiday specific. I haven't thought of exactly what items for each holiday, it was just an idea I had.

Good job, hambil, this is a very cute modification!

Gotta fix for this yet, Hambil?

All other User CP pages validate...except this one...

IF the cause is as you say (haven't looked into it yet, I had a tooth go bad and finally had it extracted yesterday so I've been out of it the last week or so), then it is IMHO a vBulletin blog bug. It does not happen with project tools as far as I can tell.

Never the less, when I get back to things, I'll see what I can do.

Sorry to hear about the tooth...I know how it feels.

What's weird is that if I go into my User CP, the page validates...however, if I go to who egged me, the page doesn't validate. So if it were a blog issue...it would happen on every page where the blog link is in the User CP navigation menu...but it doesn't...only on the who egged me page.

Hambil,

Great mod. Looks like your gonna be a contender for MOTM.

Question maybe some can help with. I running VB 3.7.3. The first thing I noticed is that there is a plugins folder in the archive. I do not have that folder on my site, regardless I uploaded everything and created the plugins folder and copied up eggavatar_forumhome_complete.php. I installed the product and it seemed to install fine however, now all memebers avatar show a broken link. This is the same members avatar link Prior to installing
http://www.buellforums.com/forum/ima...ine=1238208311
and After installing
http://www.buellforums.com/forum/egg...old=image.php?

Any suggestions ? FYI I do have VBA installed and a custom template. No vboptmise.
Any help is greatly appreciated, this looks to be a fun mod.

That is odd. I would first reupload the file in case it is corrupted.

You don't, by chance, have 'none' set for your Image Processing Library in "vBulletin Options->Image Settings" do you?

74corvette 25 Apr 2009 12:40

Thanks for your responce. I have GD set for image processing. My guess is that it might have something to do with the custom style from vbskins or something related to a postbit template. What do you think about the plugins folder, was I correct in just creating it ? Tried redownloading and reinstalling too.

hambil 25 Apr 2009 13:05

Yes, creating the plugins folder was correct. There is no plugins folder in vB. It is a convention used by many mods when they want to move plugin code into a file to save memory.

I'm with you on this one, usually I can figure out thats causing the problem but not in this case. Hambil, if you (have time) and think you can fix it I'd be willing to $ you. Shoot me a PM and let me know. PS I installed the 2.04 version and I was able to see the my avatars but could not tell if the product was install. I assume there would be a link or something in the postbit to bring up the pop-up but I didn't see. My board is pretty moded so I might be past the point of no return on this one. :o

RedeemedWarrior 27 Apr 2009 11:03

Installed this mod today, and now all of the avatars are red X's. When I click to egg an avatar, I get a Javascript error. Sounds like a pretty cool mod, but if it's going to cause problems on the board, I'm going to uninstall it.

adc-arab 17 May 2009 17:26

thank you hambil great mod installed :)

I hope in the next version it would support forums with right ==> left for the styles cuz i got to do some edit for the align in the mod @[email protected] even though my knowledge about coding near to nothing but i changed the left align to right and it worked fine
awesome mod too much fun and works good with vbcredits,

1-I hope in the next release if u can add option to clean all without paying credit for mods or for the group permission
2- if the good and bad eggs got separated in the list so the user would know if it good or bad
3- if u can add a massive import for egg gif from a directory at the server then the admin can edit info for each one or a master edit for good or bad it would be much easier this way for adding new eggs rather than add one by one ^^ one more thing it would be more awesome if every egg have its own price to pay for it

thank you hambil

Thanks, in advance...

andy2295 06 Jun 2009 14:38

Had to remove as the avatars keep displaying as just text. It worked to start with then hey presto all avatars changed to just text but were ok in usercp.

Bulldog Stang 08 Jun 2009 19:03

I did a search and could not find the answer in the threads, so I will ask it here ..

Just updated to 2.3.4 and now my avatars have disappeared completely. Suggestions ??

mrhobby 08 Jul 2009 21:35

Using 3.8.3 and Version 2.3.4 and all that shows up is the name of the Avatar, not the avatar itself, also there is no drop down for egging. the button is there but it does nothing.

Om My God this is awesome! Installed and working perfectly!

Can this be made to work in vbBlogs please ASAP!!!

I so need this to work with vbBlogs. Most my members use the blog system and not the forum.

Can you please add a notification system. "You Have Been Egged" that sends a Pm and/or email to the members.

Also, when you get cleaned another notification should be sent.

THIS ROCKS! LOL

yotsume 12 Jul 2009 12:36

Can we get the eggs to show up on the members list since I have Avatars show there. How can I do that?

yotsume 12 Jul 2009 13:00

FYI in your zip file you have a useless folder which needs removed from the zip located here: upload\images\buttons

The folder is labeled: "New Folder" and should be removed! :)

yotsume 12 Jul 2009 13:41

BUG FOUND!

I deleted an Egg I made and got this error on my vba home page:

identify: no decode delegate for this image format `/tmp/magick-XXeUQT4W' @ constitute.c/ReadImage/503. identify: no data returned `http://www.mydomain.com/images/misc/eggs/' @ url.c/ReadURLImage/226.

My vba homepage is dead even though I turned your mod off! Help ASAP Please! :(

How do I fix this error?

OK I re-enable your mod however the vba block produces the error. So I had to disable it.

I will try and re-enable the vba block asnd see why the error is produced....

BUG IN VBA MOD:

1. Make a custom egg and upload it.
2. Then throw it
3. Then delete it in admin

That kills the vba mod killing the vba homepage when using imagemagic

WEIRD!

TEMP SOLUTION:
To get my homepage back I had to turn off the images in the vba block.

How can this be fixed?

Sorry for all the posts but I needed to explain in more detail so you can fix.

Also here are two new items to throw. They are darts in a board... BULLSEYE! LOL

yotsume 12 Jul 2009 14:19

Further vba block bug testing has shown that the full size images in the block still work. Only now when I select to use small images does it crash the homepage with that error. Hmmm???

20 Jul 2009 17:50

UNINSTALLED!

Now how about some help getting everything your mod messes up removed please!

I un-installed your mod and people are getting database errors. Thoese who were "egged" are not screwed!

First, when you uninstall this the 5 or so templates this creates are not removed. I had to remove thoese manually!

Anyone have step by step instructions on how to get rid of this virus of a mod please!?

I need help ASAP please.

THANKS!

yotsume 20 Jul 2009 18:03

OK removed all files and I am hoping a rebuild of all avatars will remove any lasting reference to this mod that users are seeing on their avatars. It is a fun idea but has way to many conflicts with other important mods.

Did you rebuild your avatars from inside your AdminCP? I had to rebuild them... however this mod has far too many bugs to keep on my board so I had to kill it dead! It can be bad news in its current state...

Only problem I have is after an hour the images do not disappear, more like 5 hours.

When you try and clean it, it says it already is clean. So we have a cache problem.

One thing I just noticed is there is no title in the navigation line when you are on the who egged me page.

It's probably something really simple missing but I can't work it out.

Suddenly the 'who egged me' is missing from the userCP, anyone else? If so how did you address this issue? edit: found the issue, disable hook and manually insert.

If you put the file format *.Gif is not shown in the ava it again? Is there a way to overcome this phenomenon is not so?

I installed this on my vBulletin 3.8.4 board and, like others here, user avatars are showing up broken.

I wondered if this was a permissions thing, yet the usergroup permissions settings related to this hack do not appear anywhere in the AdminCP.

Is this hack still supported?

This worked fine for me on vb 3.8.4 but will not uninstall correctly causing me to HAVE to leave it installed for vb4 to work once I upgrade.

It causes a mysql error in vb4 if you attempt to uninstall it before or after an upgrade.

I don't think so

I need some help.
I added this but all the avatars disappear and come up as ? marks. Why and how can I fix this?

WC_Tech 21 Nov 2009 20:14

Does anyone know what I can do or the fix to this? Please!

amish_irish 07 Dec 2009 12:57

I am also getting a Invalid action attempted error

Soliloquy 24 Dec 2009 21:21

I see the white splatter image in the second post, but does anyone have a snowball image with a little splatter on one side? All the images I've found so far are either perfectly round snowballs (which would look like they're stuck to the avatar with velcro) or all splatter (unrecognizable as a snowball).

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
