[DBTech] Advanced User Tagging v3 (vB4)
![]() Developer Last Online: May 2020 ![]() ![]() ![]()
Advanced @User Tagging: What is it?
DragonByte Technologies is proud to present [DBTech] Advanced @User Tagging. The @user Tagging mod is designed to increase activity on your forum by allowing members to mention each other in posts when talking about them. This is done in a very easy way, very similar to how Twitter mentions people. We use @ ; as the tags, so for instance you could say: ---- This new mod from @Dragonbyte Tech; is pretty cool. ---- The @DragonByte Tech; Will become a link to the DragonByte Tech users profile, it will also inform DragonByte Tech they had been mentioned, and link to the relevant thread/post via a new area in the profile section, as well as a new tab in the shoutbox. It also allows members to tag the thread for specific other members by inputting their usernames in the tag box above the posts of the thread. This is a great way to increase your forum activity with no extra admin input required people will start to mention posts/threads to their friends, which will increase the amount of posting. This is especially useful of forums which have an international contingent (so threads posted in during the night for some of your members don't go overlooked) or forums which have a lot of posts/threads each day again to make sure that a post a person might want to read doesn't get lost in the crowd. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this mod please hit the ![]() Please remember to click the, ![]() What does 'Marking As Installed' do ? * It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available. * For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention. * Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications. I just tried to install. I copied the "usertag.php" into the admincp folder, copied the "dbtech" folder to the vB root, and copied the contents of the "upload/includes/xml" folder into "/includes/xml". I then tried to add it in the admincp, and it hangs, showing:
Importing Product, Please Wait... [:] I just upgraded to 4.2.2, and did not have this mod previously installed at all. No members have liked this post.

I'd like to purchase it, but if I can't get this to work, I don't have much confidence in the paid version. Anyone care to point me in the right direction?

I also just updated to 4.2.2 and this is not working for me either. I had this in 3.8.2 but for some reason it's not working at all now.

I'm seeing a few posts saying "it doesn't work", those of you who want to report problems; Could you please provide more details as to what issues you're running into?
I can't help when all I have to go by is "I'm having a problem." or "This doesn't work for me!" The general install instructions: Drag and drop the contents of the "upload" folder to the folder your forum files reside in ![]() Fillip

You do not need to upload some files manually to locations. Just upload the contents of the "UPLOAD" folder to your "htdocs/forum" destination. It will automatically overwrite the older files and replace them.
On the forum, you have to tag the users with their exact name being case-sensitive. @Abc and then afterwards @Abc should take you to their profile. Check this post for instance, that's my board. LINK No members have liked this post.

Just putting the uploads folder to htdocs didn't put the right files in the right places hence it looking like the file was missing when it was actually in the folder, just in the wrong place. Thats not the issue. the actually taggin works fine in terms of the tag itself. user is notified, its the notification link in notifications that isn't working No members have liked this post.
