[DBTech] Advanced User Tagging v3 (vB4)

Advanced @User Tagging: What is it?
DragonByte Technologies is proud to present [DBTech] Advanced @User Tagging. The @user Tagging mod is designed to increase activity on your forum by allowing members to mention each other in posts when talking about them. This is done in a very easy way, very similar to how Twitter mentions people. We use @ ; as the tags, so for instance you could say: ---- This new mod from @Dragonbyte Tech; is pretty cool. ---- The @DragonByte Tech; Will become a link to the DragonByte Tech users profile, it will also inform DragonByte Tech they had been mentioned, and link to the relevant thread/post via a new area in the profile section, as well as a new tab in the shoutbox. It also allows members to tag the thread for specific other members by inputting their usernames in the tag box above the posts of the thread. This is a great way to increase your forum activity with no extra admin input required people will start to mention posts/threads to their friends, which will increase the amount of posting. This is especially useful of forums which have an international contingent (so threads posted in during the night for some of your members don't go overlooked) or forums which have a lot of posts/threads each day again to make sure that a post a person might want to read doesn't get lost in the crowd. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this mod please hit the  button to the right ---->Please remember to click the,  button to the right if you installed the mod ---->What does 'Marking As Installed' do ? * It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available. * For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention. * Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications. Nope. I just disabled all the mods I have, and problem with the mention still exists. Weird.

In the past when people have had this problem, they never post the solution, just "nvm it works now" so I sadly have no idea what they are doing.
Check under User Tagging's Forum Manager to see that you've enabled it for all forums, perhaps? Fillip

OK, where is the user notified that he/she has been tagged in a post? I've tagged by sample account multiple times and he doesn't get any PM's.

There's no PM notifications, the notifications act like other notifications in the dropdown.

Yes, it was enabled... so I unchecked them all, hit Save, then checked them on again, hit Save... and it works now.
Maybe it just needed to be refreshed? I have no idea why it suddenly did that, but I'm happy it's working again!

this is an awesome mod so thankyou...
but how do i delete tags? i tagged a post as i was testing the mod but now i cant remove the tag... any help?! No members have liked this post.

There's currently no way to un-tag users from threads. To remove a Mention, you can just edit it out, however the user will have already been notified.

I had to disable this product (again) cause it is messing up with standard vBulletin features (again).
This time, the pagination of an article in vBCMS goes missing if this product is enabled. No members have liked this post.

Previously, I have only disabled this product to get pagination link back.
now to confirm again, I have disabled ALL products except vBCMS and vBBlogs and this. Pagination link missing. Disabling this gets back the pagination. Note: CMS cache needs to be cleared for changes to reflect. further investigation revealed that this plugin is the culprit: Render [MENTION] BBCode I have enabled the product and disabled this plugin for now. Please fix asap

That plugin has been the source of a fair number of problems, however it's not a simple fix and we are currently busy with other projects. It will be fixed in time, in the next version (which currently I believe will being worked on around mid Oct.)

It'll mean mentions won't show up as links in the posts, I believe.
