Wasn't able to edit the addtional.css file of the dark style, solved the problem by switching to another lighter style. Thanks anyway mate.

there is no style variable for that background. It is located in global.css
but for the text and border it used the text link color

To use that CSS overwrites, It is actually css_additional.css can be found inside Admincp>Styles> Style manager> style name xxx > edit templates> CSS Templates> css_additional.css
