Articles, efficiency and search engines

Iíve seen a whole bunch of different ways that people put articles on their websites.

Some people use plain HTML pages that are linked together, and some have article systems that are database driven. Some system let users upload thiere own, and other sites require the article to be sent to the webmaster for posting.

Iíve also read in some places that certain articles on systems that are database driven donít index on search engines.

Iím wondering what you consider to be the best way of putting up articles on a site, considering simplicity and ease of use (on the front end), as well as search engine friendliness?

It probably is indexed on search engines, just doesn't rank very high due to the nature of the file, dynamic etc, no keywords in URL and so on
