What are the criteria for moving a mod into the Modification Graveyard? And what does it mean of a mod is moved there?
I'm unclear as to whjether this means the add-on/modification is abandoned, or contains a security vulnerability, or just plain doesn't work as advertised. I ask, because I npoticed this evening that some of the vB4 add-ons I had marked for future consideration are now in the graveyard.

Those are all reasons. Could also be the author asked to have it removed. Or, it was removed for copyright reasons. Or, the author removed the attachment for some reason.

Try a search before posting for help. Many users won't, and don't, help if the question has been answered several times before. W3Schools - Online vBulletin Manual If I post some CSS and don't say where it goes, put it in the additional.css template. It would be helpful to note the reason, when moving a plugin there.
If an author is abandoning a plugin, but I have it working fine, then there is no reason to uninstall. But if there is a security issue, then I would want to know and uninstal it. No members have liked this post.

If it is (temporarily) removed for security reasons, all users of the modifications that have it marked as installed are notified by email of the issue.

Also, if the mod is in there because its been quarantined, the displayed message will change from the normal "This thread is in the Modification Graveyard." to "This modification is currently quarantined.".

In my view, if the modification becomes abandoned, or have any errors/bugs not suitable, copyright issues etc. its moved over there. Graveyard - the word tells you that its a waste.
Graveyard simply is a burial place ! Source - Just my own way of thinking.

There are many 'abandoned' mods that don't ever get moved to the graveyard... if a mod author disappears their mod stays in the mods section so long as there isn't a security vulnerability. A mod author must ask for a mod to be graveyarded if there isn't a security or copyright issue.

If you are referring to mods by MicroHellas, she often requests that they be deleted after a period of time. Of course she still offers the professional versions for sale on her website.

Personally, I abhor the practice of offering "Lite" versions as a bait-and-switch to "Pro" versions. That's just blatant advertising and self-promotion in my view.

I actually like the 'Lite' versions... being you're not allowed to advertise commercial mods on here if they didn't have 'lite' versions I wouldn't know they existed at all- I'd much rather know something existed (and cost money) then have no clue it was there at all. It's not practical to search google for every possible mod I may want to see if it exists. Ideally there would be a commercial mods section here...

This has been mentioned a few times in the past and the answer has not changed. We are not going to give reasons in every GY'd thread. This is not a discussion about lite versions either, please stick to the topic, or it will get closed.

Because we have no need or desire to do so.
