Duckways: AdBlock detection popup
![]() Developer Last Online: May 2019 ![]() ![]() ![]()
![]() AdBlock detection popup What is this mod all about? Adsense might be, next to paid subscriptions, one of the few options to monitize your forum. However, the growing usage of AdBlocker extensions is causing loss for us board owners. This script will blur out your website and show an popup asking to disable the AdBlock script or to whitelist your website to optimize user experience and to support your forum. ![]() ![]() You can modify colors and the text shown to users of AdBlock software. About Duckways We're a company with a team of developers who have been working a lot on a vBulletin 4 system for two of our customers. The largest one with over 200,000 users and 4 million posts. This one migrated to vBulletin 5 recently and we've faced quite some issues in vBulletin 5 which we'll fix by writing custom modifications. Some of those, which are worth sharing, will be added here on vBulletin.org. If you're missing a feature or add-on, please feel free to contact us. How to install: - Download the zip file below - Upload the content of the zip to: core/packages (this will result in a the path /core/packages/duckwaysadblock containing 2 folders and a product.php file). - Go to settings and save the Duckways: AdBlock detection popup settings (Even when you don't wish to change anything! This is a vBulletin bug where you have to at least save the settings once!) Version history

I would definetely use it if you can choose to only make it a warning and users might still access the site even with a adblock.
The idea would be to ask them politely to disable adblock but not to loose users. No members have liked this post.
