i was thinking about this and i think that would be great here, instead of having the huge forumlist you just more of less get what you want first off with the option to seek out whatever else you need.

I absolutely can't stand the way they enforce that forum view upon the members as default. Even though you can now click forums index, new users will always end up clicking the big 'Forums' button and going there first.

I have mixed feelings about it as well. I do like that they are able to feature specific discussions, however.

There is a mod that supposedly accomplishes this, although I haven't installed it myself:

i don't like that they got rid of the "view" button from the forumindex and the newstyle forumindex but i think it's a great style forumindex, especially when you're given the option.

cinq's is nice but a far cry from the one on sitepoint.

I love it because it gets away from the boxy standard forumhome. I would never dare implement it though because my power users would whine way too much.
