Changing font & background for calendar events?

Can somebody save me a lot of time experimenting by telling me which template to edit to change the text color and background for calendar events? I'm creating a variation of a custom skin that somebody else did for us and I'm having a problem with how calendar events display. The background is a light green (which I'm going to make even lighter) and the text is white, so obviously that won't work. Also, there is a gradient bar present at the top that I'd like to get rid of. But, I'm not sure where to change this.

The issue is present on the original skin as well and I don't have the ear of the person that did it at the moment. I think he must have just overlooked the calendar since it's not widely used feature (or at least not for us).

I know I need some work on my HTML and CSS skills, but at the moment I just need to get this one issue solved. On that note, though, does anybody know the best place to start learning what templates go to what visually in vbulletin? I have seen that color map that shows the basic ones, but is there a reference for all of them?

A screenshot showing the issue is attached. Thanks

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I'm using v3.8.1 if that matters.

Well, I found the CSS selector that I needed to change in the "calendar_showeventsbit" template. Thanks for anybody reading that was going to help, though

I'd still like to know if there is any sort of reference that goes deeper than the vb manual in regard to what different templates are for etc. I'm sure I'll learn in time as I get better at understanding all the code.
