posts being held for approval
Hello,
In vB5.2 is there a setting which will stop any posts from being held for approval? Thank you, Kenny No members have liked this post.

I think I use admincp/settings/channel management/require moderation for posts. (yes)
Not entirely sure as there are also user permissions also. admincp/settings/usergroup/usergroup manager/ No members have liked this post.

Thank you for the reply. I am not seeing either of those options in admincp. Could it be because we're using vB 5.2 patch level 1?

Yes I see that menu. I followed the instructions, I got as far as choosing the forum (MM Forum) but then I don't see where to choose a usergroup - actually I don't know what a usergroup is.

I see a heirarchical menu that includes several menus and sub menus that look like this. So when you say "choose your forum" in the pic you posted that would be click on "home", yes? Then what?

No...
Click the name of the forum you are wanting to change the permissions in.. All your forums should be listed there. . And the usergroups beneath the heading... That would be the usergroups. . . . No members have liked this post.

when I go to channel management/channel permissions, the attached is what appears. The main forum is MM Forum. When I click on that the second attachment appears. That is as far as I've gotten. Am I at the right location? Now what?
Thanks for your help by the way. ![]() No members have liked this post.

Ah, so click "edit" next to "channel member"..... now I see the option "require moderation for posts"... whew! I found it! Unfortunately it's already set to "no". However, we still had an occasion in recent days where a couple posts got held for "approval" and a forum admin had to go find them and approve them so they could post. How could this happen if this option is set to no?
The other question is, in the event posts do get sidelined for moderation (approval) where are they held? The forum admin couldn't find the location and used the "check recent posts" by given user feature and then found the two that were awaiting approval. So two questions: 1) how and why would posts still be getting held when the "require moderation for posts" option is set to "no"? 2) in the event posts still get held for approval, is there a simple way for admin to find and approve them? Most ideally, though, we really just want to completely disable any setting that would cause a post to be held for approval. Thanks again, Kenny No members have liked this post.

if a moderator/admin acct goes into their user cp there will be a moderated posts link...
im a bit curious of this main topic myself but havent dug in to deep yet....i recently made a "private forum" only open to a special usergroup, and it seems to be forcing me to moderate posts also, not sure exactly whats up there.. No members have liked this post.
