Force Users to Read a Thread About this hack: This hack allows you to set a thread as 'must read' by your members. Right now, if you make a post and want all your members to read it, you have no way of enforcing it. This hack will give an error message similar to the one you get when you need to change you password, saying that the admins want you to read a certain thread before they continue using the forum. Once a user reads a thread, they wont be bugged to read it again. You can set all usergroups or just certain onces that must read a thread. You can set to site wide or just some forums. Option to Force Guests This hack added one query to every page on your forum a member goes to.

Hi,
This works just fine on 4.2.1 when you are already on the site but if someone puts your webaddress into their browser, a blank screen comes up. I.E www.webaddress/forums/index.php - blank screen www.webaddress/forums/arcade.php - force thread view comes up. I am using vbadvanced. Any ideas thanks No members have liked this post.

We were forced to delete this hack because it completely messed up the entire site formatting when we used it.
Everything looked left aligned, text only. Sad, because we could have used a hack like this. 4.2.1

Works fine here on 4.2.2... Maybe other fixes have a lot to do with that.

I just had an issue with this mod today, it permitted an exploit injection, probably with SQL.
It completely blocked the forum with a grayed out background and requesting to click a button to get a Flash Player Update. Happened on the forum homepage and admin panel. After replacing original files for the admin panel from a backup, to access it, I managed to disable this mod and the forum return to normality. An exploit from Singapur. Got a problem with this plugin, when the thread that the user has to read is in a different section, the plugin won't work.
Anyone knows a quickfix for this? No members have liked this post.

I believe you can disable it by turning off the plugin, Force Users to Read a Thread with the hook location of showthread_complete

Does anyone know if this is compatible with the various mobile apps and options?
If not, do users bypass it, or do they hit a wall? No members have liked this post.

Just to add on Vbulletin 4.2.2 PL1 it doesn't appear to save the forced thread in the admin options.
