Incorporate Existing Header & Footer into New Website Page

Need some big time help...hopefully I can explain things properly.

What I'm doing is putting together a Privacy Policy for my vB4 website. I have a privacypolicy.html file completed...and what I would like to do is take this privacypolicy.html document and incorporate it with the websites current header and custom footer...so the completed "Privacy Policy" page looks & feels like the rest of the website (with the same header & custom footer).

I'm not really sure how to do this. I'm tried some various things (trial & error)...but not having much luck.

Can anyone please explain how I would go about doing this?

Thanks

Thanks for the links snakes1100.

None of the links confirms if the mods work with vB 4.2.5. The first link is from 2004...and I'm not sure it would work with vB4 at all.

Thanks. I did find the "4th" link after reading threw the 3 original links.

Looks like the process of creating your own vB page is still a bit more complex than I may be able to handle (still not enough step-by-step details for me to figure it out). Lol

Guess I wil have to go with my "Plan B"...and duplicate the "look" of my vB4 pages with html & CSS.

Thanks

I noticed in my vB AdminCp>>Style Manager...there's a template called "Generic_Shell".

I don't know if this is a template that comes with a standard install of vB4...or if someone in the past made it for quick template making.

Here's the code that's in the "Generic_Shell" template:

{vb:stylevar htmldoctype}
<html xmlns="//www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"<vb:if condition="$vboptions['enablefacebookconnect']"> xmlns:fb="//www.facebook.com/2008/fbml"</vb:if> dir="{vb:stylevar textdirection}" lang="{vb:stylevar languagecode}" id="vbulletin_html">
<head>

{vb:raw headinclude}
<title>{vb:raw pagetitle}</title>

<vb:if condition="$includecss">
<vb:if condition="$vboptions['storecssasfile']">
<vb:each from="includecss" value="file">
{vb:cssfile {vb:raw file}}
</vb:each>
<vb:else />
{vb:cssfile {vb:raw includecss}}
</vb:if>
</vb:if>
{vb:raw headinclude_bottom}
</head>
<body>

{vb:raw header}

{vb:raw navbar}

{vb:raw HTML}

{vb:raw footer}

</body>
</html>

Is this something I could use to make a new pages on my vB site...or is there a lot more to it?

Thanks

That code is basically from part 2 of the 1st link [HOW TO - vB4] Create your own vBulletin page but yes it is a basic generic starter template.

Check out the images I've uploaded for a visual how to.

I've also created a privacy.php file for you, no need to edit just download and upload to your root folder I.E where your index.php file resides.

Once this is done goto

Settings > Options > Site Name / URL / Contact Details

Scroll down to "Privacy Statement URL" and enter privacy.php and save.

Now you should see a Privacy Statement link in your footer.
