Fair use question?
So I've got a few free themes (styles) which use to be very popular, but seem to no longer be supported. I've since updated these themes (styles) to work with 4.0.8. I'd like to re-release some of these styles (themes), but can not get a hold of the original developers (who originally released them free).
Would it be wrong of me to re-release them here on vBulletin.org? No members have liked this post.

What version were they before ?
Are you still using the original images supplied in them ?

first thing is to have the approval of the original author... if you can't, sorry... you are not using OpenSource GPL content, but registered themes with authors copyright... you have to use other elements than the original images/icons to make your themes acceptable by the rules.

Well this sadly answers my question. Originally these themes were released for 4.0 and one was 4.0.5
One of the themes its impossible to reach the author (site no long is online) & the other has been offline for over 6 months. No members have liked this post.

I am afraid that you our out of options to release them on our site then. We require the permission of the original developer for all non-original work.
