2.2.9 looks so basic to what it is now. The 3.6.x series has been my favourite.

3.0.x looks identical to 3.5 and 3.6 as well.

wow, really incredible ... but how about security onto this board? i think the new releases improve something for the security ...

Yes, them boards could probably be easily hacked.

The 3.x series has its own feel, that is intended of the developers. The same for 2.x.

SA is actually running a heavily modified version of vB. Apparently close to 90% of the code is SA dev created they are merely required to keep the vB footer due to legal agreements with Jelsoft.

Well, no post numbering is one of the things I remember about the older versions. (Much like SMF, WowBB, phpBB2 still are today.)
