Anonymous posts

Hi,

Lets say i had a thread on the forums and i wanted it so the poster/ thread creator could post so it is snonymous. can this be done?

The reason i ask is we are looking to offer a support thread for people in need.

Kind Regards

Stephen

don't think so since all users are in their own class, they all show up as the poster and the post bit would always show those stats, unless you did away with all info displayed about author class and posts in postbit. making your whole board anonymous. you could make private forums that protected outsiders from seeing the threads however not sure how this could be done without putting the user in that private class

Zoints offer an Anonymous Posting modification, it is only available for 3.7 but I posted an implementation that should work for vB 4, I am waiting for people to test it to see if there are any bugs.

It works by creating an Anonymous user, the product replaces the real user's info with the anonymous user info before posting.
