RSS Feed was posting...then stopped

I had set-up a user, which we'll call NewsBot, with the purpose of posting RSS feeds (as threads) via the RSS Manager (Add RSS Feed) to its own forum. I edited the feed, supplying the blog RSS feed url, user name and appropriate forum and selected 'post as thread'.

At first the forum read 'Never' in the posts column. I thought maybe it needed a while to update (the term was set at 30min by default). I tried clicking the 'Run scheduled tasks now' button in the feed manager window. Then I went back to check the forum...and found that the bot had posted 361 entries!

I went into the forum manager and deleted the forum and then noticed that I needed to set a max items to avoid that problem in the future (which was set at 3). Then I created the forum again, selecting all the same items as above in the feed manager section and clicking the 'reset' box at the top to force the forum to search for the items, this time limiting them to three. However, it didn't pull up any of them this time, even though when I click 'preview feed' at the bottom of the feed manager page it shows up three posts at the top.

What am I missing here? Did I skip a step by accident? It's just confusing me at this point!

If I have posted in the wrong forum, I'd like to request the post be moved to the appropriate category by a Forum Moderator. thank you.
