Pay to Register
Mod Version: 1.0, by Excalibur82 (Member) Excalibur82 is offline
Developer Last Online: Jul 2011 I like it Show Printable Version Email this Page

vB Version: 3.8.2 Rating: (8 votes - 4.88 average) Installs: 76
Released: 09 Apr 2009 Last Update: Never Downloads: 499
Not Supported Uses Plugins

As my first release, I figured since so many were wanting this I went ahead and re-released it. As with the original, this still only works with Email Confirmation Turned OFF. I will look for a way around this issue in the future.

Pay to Register is only meant for 3.8.x as I have no idea if it will work on earlier versions.

To install:
1. Go to AdminCP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product
2. Browse your computer for the xml file you download from this thread
3. Click import
4. Continue reading to check to make sure this mod is pointing to the right location of your payments.php file

For those installing, follow these instructions after importing the product.

1. Go to AdminCP -> Plugins & Products -> Plugin Manager -> to the right of Pay to Register click Edit
2. Check that this line is correct:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

3. If that line is not correct then update by removing '/' or adding 'forum/payments.php'.

Any questions please do ask.

NOTE: Those that click install will get priority support over those that do not click install.

From what I can tell, the users are being registered at the point they click the REGISTER button and leave that page. I'm thinking that all of this information should really be sent on to the next page for the information to be processed after the payment is made. If this isn't possible, might it be possible to have the payment membership selections as part of the registration page where you can't click on or possibly even see the REGISTER button until the payment is processed?

I'm not sure how this whole system works since I don't have it installed, but I think you do need to use this in conjunction with usergroup permissions to have the full effect.

For example, only the paid registered users usergroup can 'see' the forum. The unregistered usergroup cannot. But usergroup permissions have to be set this way.

Usergroup perms play a big part in this mod. I will see about a more stand alone mod in the future but currently days filled with fun, I am slow to further development of mods.

installed but turned off for the "Email Confirmation Turned OFF" issue.
Also if u set permission for all on subscription payment section nothing change because the user on Users Awaiting Email Confirmation can see him payments on user cp page but not straight after the registration and so the redirect is pointless.

Any udpate about it?

I will be taking over my old mods as things have not gone the way they were intended plus with the release of 4.0 I feel that it is time for me to start coding again. This mod included. Unfortunately there will not be a new release to this mod until I am able to view and play around with vB 4.0

Exactly what I was looking for -- the script that Autoguide use -- which looks much like Sprints. That's the one I'm looking for.

It doesn't exist, but there is someone who has one with a similar look in this thread:

I have the custom product / code that they use....I can provide it to Steve M for reference if he would like it. I would like it to work with vb 4.0 too.
