Not Supported DB Changes Uses Plugins Auto-Template Additional Files External Content Is in Beta Stage

This mod has been rewritten for vB4x here: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=240677

This modification is based on the Video-Directory modification by Survivor and vBPoint.org.
His mod is NOT dead, its still alive and kicking; but he has informed me that he just doesn't have the time to maintain it and give support. So until he is able to work on it agian; I've been doing a series of updates.

What is this mod?

This mod adds a fully featured and fully integrated video directory archive to your forums. Users can add their favorite videos from their favorite video service to the directory. I only support a few select hosters; but the hoster scripting is XML base, so any user can create their own scripts for any number of hosting services. The old MyVideo and Sevenload scripts from Survivor's version will still work, but they wont pull in Keyword/Tagging information, nor the video length time codes.

Basic Feature Listing:
  • Fully integrated into the vBulletin user database and product manager.
  • Fully phrased and built on templates for easy reskinning and styling.
  • Fully administratable and a myriad of settings for personalization.
  • Complete customization of permissions based on usergroups.
  • Landing page for broad information and fully featured tag cloud.
  • Category profiles for videos.
  • Contribution profiles for users.
  • Keyword profiles for tag cloud.
  • Built in comment system for videos.
  • Search function for titles and descriptions.
  • RSS feed of videos.
Product Demo:
http://www.8wayrun.com/video.php
Installation Procedure:
  1. Upload all files in the "upload" directory to your forum root.
  2. CHMOD /videothumbnails/* and /includes/videoserviceapi to 777.
  3. Import the product "product-videodirectory.xml" in your Product Manager.
  4. Follow the on screen instructions to configure your video hoster settings.
  5. Refresh your administration control panel to see the new navigation links.
NOTES:
vBulletin 3.7.0 instituted a new avatar-thumbnail system. There is a high probability that you are unaware of this new system and may have failed to setup your vBulletin to make use of it. Make sure that a directory called /thumbs is located in your avatar directory and CHMOD it to 777. Then go into Maintenance > Update Counters and run the Rebuild Custom Avatar Thumbnails process.
Upgrade Procedure:
  1. Upload all files in the "upload" directory to your forum root.
  2. Take note of the information stored in Limits of Videos > General Settings.
  3. Import the product "product-videodirectory.xml" in your Product Manager.
  4. Re-establish your previous Limits settings in Videos > General Settings.
  5. Re-import ALL of your hosters and settings in Videos > Manage hosters.
    • You MUST remember to re-import your hosters after upgrading.
NOTES:
You may lose your category dataman when you upgrade. If no categories are listed after an upgrade, you will be required to rebuild your category dataman. Its very easy to rebuild it if you need to. Simply go into Videos > Manage categories, select ANY category and hit [Edit], then click [Save]. Your category dataman will automatically be rebuilt.
Roadmap for the Future:
  • Moderation
  • Favorites
  • Playlists

The new thread creation is giving me the following instead of embedding the actual video....

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

Here's the example thread: http://www.magicthemeparks.com/mk/fo...hread.php?t=37

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

You need to enable the bbcode in your settings.

Great module, working fine, except that when I try to make a comment at my language (greek) I get jubberish instead of greek characters!! Is there an encoding set in some of the files I can change?

The weird part is that in the video titles and descriptions, Greek language characters appear just fine.

Also, I cannot delete any comments! It show up "you want to delete this comment", I say yes and nothing happens.

Getting

Gearspro, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

How can i give permissions to usergroups? :/

I cant find an option..

Thanks.

First of all: this is a truly awesome addition!
I stumbled upon this "The response of the video-server can't be read."-error recently and I had chmoded the thumbnail- and serviceapi-directories accordingly long before. A couple of videos were added without hassle before, but now for seemingly no reason this error occurs.
The youtube-video, which causes this error, is correctly listed and playable within youtube itself. And I can add this video without problems to vbtube too. So this seems to be a video-directory-related issue.

maddenaddicto,

Did you CHMOD777 on the permissions for the videothumbnails directory and all directories within? If not, do that and see if it works.

I have a conflict with vBulletin-Glossary which creates the following error when viewing the VIDEO BBCode:

I noticed that there is a post here that indicates turning off cross-linking within vBulletin-Glossary will eliminate the conflict, but that feature is too valuable to lose.

Here is the code which ends in the referenced line number:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

Note that I do not have vBSEO installed, but I do have vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator installed. When I removed the offending lines of code I received another error from the main vbglossar.php file which did not seem to reference vBSEO. I fear that the conflict may be deeply rooted.

Any ideas what may be causing this error and what might resolve the conflict?

If not, I can disable the VIDEO BBCode, but this results in corresponding threads created by Video Directory without a functional embedded video. This conflict was in the previous version, but not as critical since there was no thread creation feature previously. I can use AME to remedy this if I can simply insert the original URL of the video. I found the location of the code within the videodirectory_newthread and videodirectory_reportthread phrases, but I was unable to modify this to insert the raw video URL. I tried variations of the $videoinfo[url] variable, to no avail. Ideally, I would like to use all features of both mods, but alternatively I will settle for this workaround if I can get the variable to pass.
I face same problem here in conflict betwen video directory and vBulletin-Glossary
