vbImageHost Converter

This is a one time use prodcut to convert the images uploaded with the vbImageHost product to native vBulletin albums and attachmets.

It reads through the vbimghost table and for each member creates an album and then converts the files for the user into attachments and places them in the album. vbImageHost had privacy settings at the image level, vBulletin has the privacy settings at the Album level. For this reason, if a member has both public and private images, a public and a private album will be created for that user. It will also create additional public or private albums for the user as necessary when an album is full.

Basically it will take your existing vbImageHost galleries and convert them into vBulletin albums.

I've added a redirection script that will redirect any displayimg requests for vbimagehost and will display the attachment created with the converter.

It allows you to upgrade to at least the most current version of VB4 with your vbImageHost images safe and sound as vBulletin attachments.

It looks like I included and older version of the php file when zipped this.

1.0b2 - Fixed issue where the attachment file wasn't written to the attachments directory

I was hoping one of the small number of people who downloaded the to weigh in so you would get an independent verification.

There have been no ill effects on our site. I wrote it using the native VB data handlers to create the albums as well as the the attached image files so there shouldn't be any difference between files created with this program or uploaded from VB itself. No changes are made to the structure of any VB tables, just to the vbimagehost table.

That said, I will warn you that the redirect script doesn't work with VB5.3.0 and above. I haven't had time to get back to it and get it fixed but as stated in the docs, the redirect script certainly isn't my best work.

honestly - I am not 100% sure what this mod would be doing? Is it only looking at images that are locally stored on the forums and creating a user album?

I want to understand this some more

It is more limited than that. If you previously used the now dead mod vbImageHost, images were stored in a local directory along along with comments in a table.

This mod simply converts those to nativ VB albums. If you haven't previously used vbImageHost, then this mod serves no purpose.
