Everyone seems focused on what is missing with Xenforo...the blogs, the galleries, etc...but bottom line...isn't a FORUM suppose to be about a place to read and write posts?

And it is doing it extremely well. At an average of over 1000 posts a day for a forum just at two months old...how did your forums do at that point in time?

To be honest, some of you sound like children running home to mama to complain about how the big bad bully treated you so badly.

How many posts would they have had if there weren't posts about it on here and vbulletin.com?

Seems it's a two way street, I know we have them down here in the south so don't try the dirt road game with the rest of us

Due to who is behind it, not what it is.

It would have had neither the hype or popularity had two unknown people been coding it.

I expect vbulletin.com probably took off in a similar way 10 years ago.

Yes it did. Only difference was the developer was an unknown who created what UBB users craved. He happened to use UBB for his site and when it didn't scale he created vbulletin. Interestingly enough he didn't release until it was ready and didn't try to sell a beta product.

i just want to know why will i pay 100$ or 140$ to test a beta script , it is not ready yet , and with very few features in it .

this has happened with vb4 as well , pre-sale order , i hate this , i will not buy it , until i see a Stable version released and the price less upto a 100$ (without any promotional plan)

You think you'll get a beta from anyone for free? Or one that's less than full license cost (normally) if you don't already have a license?

Xenforo is $100 during the promotion, and your "beta" license doesn't expire until 12 months after the stable release (not 12 months after license purchase date)

And even though Xenforo is beta atm, it seems awfully stable.

I will agree it seems to be one of the most stable and bug free beta software, but it is still in beta and $140 is a bit high atm imo.

If you buy during the 24 hour window, it's only $100 and if you live outside the US where the exchange rate is in your favor, it works out even better.

Mike and Kier have been coding for a long time. They cant do that for free. People have to eat. Its nothing more than logical they sell the beta version. And for a beta version of release 1.0 its looking pretty good.

Everything costs money. If they sell enough licenses they will hire more devs. Which in turn means XF will expand in functionality. So thats good for xenforo customers and also
for vbulletin customers because competition is good and raises the bar.

I think $100 is very cheap for a license that is valid for 1 year after the Gold version.
