How to report a dead modification?
Specifically, Passive Video [Lite]
The author seems to have left town the day after putting the paid version up for sale. Note that the typist that posted (Coders Shack) is apparently not the programmer. He/they stopped posting August 28, 2008. They surfaced again once on Feb. 4, 2009 only to say they were using it in v3.8. No requests for help have been answered here or on their own forum, despite them charging for the mod. Myself and a few others have attempted to warn off potential buyers, but after a while our posts get buried by more unanswered trouble reports, and people are still buying this thing. Please advise. Since we don't sell the mods here, there isn't anything we can do to stop users from going to another site to buy a mod. I'm always telling users they should read the whole thread prior to downloading and installing a modification. If they can't be bothered to do a little bit of reading to see what sort of problems they may encounter when installing a mod (like whether there really is support, etc), then there isn't much else we can do.

Try a search before posting for help. Many users won't, and don't, help if the question has been answered several times before. W3Schools - Online vBulletin Manual If I post some CSS and don't say where it goes, put it in the additional.css template. I will NOT help via PM (you will be directed to post in the forums for help.) No members have liked this post.

I know there's some sort of procedure, because I've seen mods get put into the graveyard.
As for people using this site to advertise and sell non-working mods, maybe it's time some sort of reporting system was put in place. Something a little easier than "read all 30 pages of replies carefully before you install anything". No members have liked this post.
