Maybe a checkbox to control weather or not a new window will be used on the link.

You might want to make sure that the drop downs in the navbar still work when opening up a link in a new window. They didn't work for me when first going into the new window.

Couldnt it be coded to only open in a new window if the link is outside the originating domain?
