vbProArcade v1.0 Flash Games Development Thread

This thread is intended to provide support for those who wish to find new games for their Arcades, or wish to assist in the development of new games for vbProArcade, or wish to modify existing, open-source Flash games for use with vbProArcade.

Note to vbulletin.org moderators: I could not find an appropriate place for this thread, other than the Beta Hacks forum, so here it is. If you feel this should be moved somewhere else, by all means do so. An additional reason I posted it here was because, to my knowledge, only registered users can view this thread, which may contain hack code at one point or another.

For the hack itself, you will need to see this thread. The Flash Development thread that you see here is just that, and should only be for the discussion of creating/modifying games to work with vbProArcade. Any discussion of or support for the hack itself will be conducted in the other thread.

For documentation on how to modify a game to work with vbProArcade, please see the vbProArcade documentation, which will always be contained in this post. I will try and update this post whenever I update the documentation itself.

A list of current games can you find in the second post.

Before you modify ANY game's source or post it here, you must MAKE SURE that you have the author's permission to modify and redistribute the code, compiled or otherwise.

As games are modified and posted, I will update this post to list them, so that people running vbProArcade may find and install them more easily.

Come on people let's look for more games. I searched a lot already but only found source files of crappy games. :/ I would like a pinball game for example.

Dark Jim, edit the begining of your query to:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

So if it is not the 6th game, it will work.

Ditto on the pinball game, I think it could be a great game to keep high scores on, I'll try to find one too...

Tried adding it to Afterblur with the query you gave, DJ, and was returned a whole list of errors. Before I start listing them here, has anyone else been successful with adding this game?

what I did , instead of running a mysql query was this:

1. save game icon to desktop
2. save crown icon to desktop
3. upload simon.swf to your games folder
4. go to the arcade admin panel and click on add game and enter the following information :

Game Identifier : simon
Game Title : Simon Says
Game Description : * describe it in your own words *
- browse to the champion icon on desktop
Champion text for Simon Says : Simon Says Champion
Champion text color : #FF0000
- browse to game icon on desktop
Filename : simon.swf
Game Hash Offset : 5
Score Return Variable : $simonscore

and then HTML Code For Game :

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

and click add

be sure you enable the game and enable the champion icon and champion text if you're wanting to use that

I'm about to install Flash and stuff on my dev machine, so if you guys spot any good games and can get hold of the source, post them here and I'll take a shot at modding them (after attempting to get permission from the author of course). I'm sure if I can't someone else here can... let's get some good choices for our arcades folks!

Did that for me as well until I clicked quote on Dark Jim's post and grabbed the query from there, I don't know why it doesn't seem to display properly through the postbit (I tested it like 5 times before quoting and being able to run the query).

Well...test that. Simon is up and work on my boards as well, nice job Dark Jim.
