Displaying Feeds - don't save data in posts

Hi Guys,

I've just purchased my first copy of VB a few days ago after being with phpbb for 5 years and I need some help.

I want to pull feeds into the forum but want them displayed in a frame/section and not have the values saved as posts/threads.

In phpbb I managed to write some code which worked well (see screenshot)
It used to create a link to the original article + show a short summary. I want to do the same for vbulletin as well. I'm not a web programmer but does try to mess around here and there but I'm afraid that it's way to early for me to figure out what's happening in vb before I can attempt anything.

I tried searching but I couldn't find any mods like this.... I'm sure there must be a few people doing something like this and it's not only me.... if anyone can give me a link to a mod like this if it exists, I'd really appreciate it.

btw, I'm on 3.84 (latest on V3 and don't see myself going to 4.0 anytime soon)

See these threads for methods to pull threads via javascript:
[HowTo] Display your latest threads on an external page using an RSS2 feed
[HowTo] Display your latest threads on an external page using an XML feed
[HowTo] Display your latest threads on an external page using an RSS feed

Those are kinda specific to getting information from a vbulletin rss feed, but I'm sure you can use it to get the data from any feed.

Try a search before posting for help. Many users won't, and don't, help if the question has been answered several times before.
W3Schools -
Online vBulletin Manual
If I post some CSS and don't say where it goes, put it in the additional.css template.
I will NOT help via PM (you will be directed to post in the forums for help.)

cool thanks, I'm not sure if I will be able to program anything at this point but will see if I can make sense of it.

Thanks again
