Perhaps it was meant to be a Halloween Prank, and scare everyone?
Beware and be cautious, I still recall one of the few things that lead to the demise of them originally and it wasn't good at all. If it's the same folks, the same oversight might be present. Example: 1. vBSEO users were getting hacked, a forum owner determined it was through vBSEO and he contacted them and supplied the actual fix. 2. Nearly a year goes by (give or take a few months) and the Forum owner that noticed the issue originally and supplied the code, then saw an update was available for vBSEO (which was to fix a newer and different security exploit). 3. He downloaded and installed the update, then within a few days of doing so was hacked again! 4. He went to find out how, and realized that vBSEO never included the fix he supplied all those months ago - he was hacked by updating, which actually removed his patched code in the previous version. They left all of us wide out in the open, ready to be hacked for nearly a year. I do not foresee them doing well in today's vBulletin market, nor would I trust anything associated with the name.

Yes, a few of my clientele sites that had vBseo had been hacked as well. It was a well known exploit and they didn't care about it.
