vbProArcade v1.0 Flash Games Development Thread

This thread is intended to provide support for those who wish to find new games for their Arcades, or wish to assist in the development of new games for vbProArcade, or wish to modify existing, open-source Flash games for use with vbProArcade.

Note to vbulletin.org moderators: I could not find an appropriate place for this thread, other than the Beta Hacks forum, so here it is. If you feel this should be moved somewhere else, by all means do so. An additional reason I posted it here was because, to my knowledge, only registered users can view this thread, which may contain hack code at one point or another.

For the hack itself, you will need to see this thread. The Flash Development thread that you see here is just that, and should only be for the discussion of creating/modifying games to work with vbProArcade. Any discussion of or support for the hack itself will be conducted in the other thread.

For documentation on how to modify a game to work with vbProArcade, please see the vbProArcade documentation, which will always be contained in this post. I will try and update this post whenever I update the documentation itself.

A list of current games can you find in the second post.

Before you modify ANY game's source or post it here, you must MAKE SURE that you have the author's permission to modify and redistribute the code, compiled or otherwise.

As games are modified and posted, I will update this post to list them, so that people running vbProArcade may find and install them more easily.

Once again, Jim, instead of putting in a 9 for the ID, put in NULL, so that it won't automatically make it 9, instead it'd use the next ID that it can use.

I just installed hexxagon, changing hexxagonFinal to just hexxagon. I dunno, that just annoyed me. Works great.

Yea, it's good practice to use NULL in any SQL column that contains an auto incrementing value. Other values may not work correctly in everybody's databases (duplicate entry error in a keyed field).

Hmm like I posted I did not modify the game myself but I'll ask for the fla file. I downloaded Macromedia Flash and will try to improve it so it does not end when you win.

:tired: Fixed. And before someone asks, no I don't have 9 games. The 9 in the query was because I deleted a game twice.

ok i sorted it out now and i think the hex game is all workin now i just added the game manualy coz i was having no luck with that query

i also made another image for u lot 2 use if u wont ! let me know if u do use it :d cheers

"vbProArcade Error: Invalid game name specified (todo: put something pretty here later)"

I would be grateful if someone would post the following details from their VBPro aracde control panel from within the Admin CP for these values, as I can't get it going properly. It's playing but the params are incorrect somewhere.

Whats the hash offset for hex? You really should post the query without putting it in a text file, otherwise it gets messed up.

The hash offset is 5. I had to tinker around to find that out as well. I enter everything from the control panel, myself....thats why it's there IMHO.

And, for my own sake, what do you need to code Flash or to look at the FLA files (i.e. compiler)?

Flash - Flash 4/5 or Flash MX, its made my macromedia, you can get a free demo at www.macromedia.com is has full features but has an limited use!

I am looking for sonic the hedgehog... my forum is buzzing for it after I uploaded the super sonic theme music *lol*

That Asteroids game is poo you can just fly in to them to blow them up lol it does not kill you hehe also it does not auto load up a new level when yours done.
